Lee A. Knuppel & Associates provides complete site design services for both our residential and commercial clients. Our staff is experienced with a broad spectrum of Civil Engineering projects that vary from grading plans to health department licensing. In fact, we are one of the area’s most used construction and demolition landfill license renewal companies. Our surveyors and engineers create modern CAD packages with 3-D land models for water runoff calculations, quantities of earthwork cut/fill, and roadway and subdivision design.

There are 5 Major Discipline’s of Civil Engineering

Hydraulic Engineers are concerned with the analysis of water and other fluids, flow characteristics, and with the design of machines and structures for fluid containment, control and distribution. Some examples of projects that Hydraulic Engineers would participate in are: Water Distribution Systems (i.e. Pipe Networks), Sedimentation Lagoons, Ports and Harbors, Dams, and Irrigation/Canal Systems.

All civil engineers must consider the impact that their systems and structures will have on the environment. However, as a specialization within Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineers are particularly concerned with protecting the environment from the potentially harmful effects of human activity and protecting human populations from the effects of adverse environmental factors. They analyze environmental quality and design systems and structures that improve air, water, and soil quality, thus improving human health. Using chemistry, microbiology, mechanics and a variety of other disciplines of study, Environmental Engineers manage such systems as water treatment, sewage treatment, and solid waste disposal.
