    The L.K. & A. staff has valuable experience in landslide investigations and monitoring. Previous projects have required detailed landslide mapping, crack monitoring in buildings, and remedial pier design. L. K. & A. can also provide complete soil testing services. From simple soil borings to complex tri-axial shear tests, we can supply the soil information you need. All soil reports are written by a licensed Geotechnical Engineer, and our on-staff Geologists can also provide useful information about subsurface water flow and rock formations.


    Geotechnical Engineers apply Civil Engineering technology to soils and rocks, and help build foundations as well as other sub-ground structures. Some different aspects of Geotechnical Engineering are:

    Soil and Rock Mechanics

    Which is the analysis of soil and rock properties and behaviors so that they can be built with or upon.

    Foundation Engineering

    Uses knowledge of soil mechanics, geology, and Structural Engineering to design and construct foundations for engineering structures.

    Rock Engineering

    Applies rock mechanics and structural engineering to design underground structures, such as tunnels and mines, and some surface structures, such as dam foundations which are carried into bedrock and stabilized rock slopes.
